Bogside

Where the Battle of Bogside in 1969. This marked the explosion of urban and rural warfare that became known as "The Troubles." Here is where the Bogside Massacre, known as Bloody Sunday was carried out. Hear about the events that unfolded on that Sunday afternoon in January 1972. The tour will further educate visitors about the Struggle for Political Status, The Hunger Strike of 1981and the history of the Peace Process.

Former Ebrington Barracks and Bond Street

After crossing the Peace Bridge, visitors will hear accounts of the history of Ebrington Barracks since The Siege of Derry 1688-89 until the British military withdrawal from the site in 2007. The tour will continue through the Bond Street area where visitors will learn about the history of the area and the many Loyalist murals there.

The Fountain

The Fountain Protestant Housing Estate

The only remaining Protestant Unionist Loyalist housing estate on the west bank of the Foyle. In earlier times there were around 1500 residents in the estate. Now there are a mere 300 souls. Hear stories from the rich history of the area from a resident tour guide and see the area's murals and points of interest.
